This Honky Tonk Angel is gone again...

I'm so excited to share some exciting news with y'all!

I just...

 BOOKED A NEW SHOW!!!

YAY!!  It's a musical comedy called "Honky Tonk Angels" and it's based off the music of Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton.  I'm cast as "Darlene", a young country girl with big dreams and big plans.

I will be in Missouri for 5 weeks starting in October, so here I go again!  I just got my script and decided it was time to share it with you guys. It's always exciting (and sometimes slightly terrifying) to open up a new script and find out what exactly you're getting yourself into in the coming months.

So far I've learned that I...

A. Will be playing guitar in the show (woohoo!)

B. Will apparently be clogging in the show (ummmm...whaaaaa?)

and

C. Have to have everything learned and memorized in 3 weeks by the time I get there (gulp.)

Rehearsals will be a whole week shorter due to some scheduling conflicts.  A whole musical put up on stage and in front of people in 14 days...???

Uh. Yeah. I'll have some interesting stories for you guys in the coming weeks:)

Anyhoo.  Here's a little sneak peak of my script.

Love and other stuff:)

If You are Among The Very Young....

Speaking of hearts...Oh be still mine!

Can I even begin to describe how amazing it was to be on stage again with Kacey?  What I love the most (beyond the amazing songs we got to sing, the bright lights, and the red lips!) is how easy it is to sing with my sister.  I'm not saying the work isn't hard, but the actual act of blending and harmonizing and matching each other is just so natural...gotta love family!

We will have more photos and maybe even some live video footage soon.  But till then, here we are after the show with Frank Sinatra himself!  :>)

While it would be a dream come true to actually have performed with Frank, this is Douglas Roegiers...he honored Sinatra well with his renditions of all our Frank favorites.

"and if you should survive to 105
think of all you'll derive out of being alive
and here is the best part
you have a head start
if you are among the very young at heart."

Burnin' the Midnight Oil...

Ok....so here's the thing...
Doing a country show with our band on a big 'ol stage in Kansas....
And doing a Theater show with a 10 piece big band singing Frank Sinatra standards....
are 2 very different things:)

But alas, that's what's what in the Coppola girls' world today!

We've had 2 rehearsals and tonight???

SHOWTIME!!!!

I say we are burning the midnight oil because in show business (especially the Broadway business),
there is no rest for the weary.  You're gonna dance your little hiney off in 3 inch character shoes, learn 10 new songs with harmonies, memorize 2 page monologues in 15 minutes, all the while looking fabulous in sequined ball gowns, feathered eyelashes, and cherry red lips...

And you're gonna love every minute of it!

So excuse the short post: I'm just gonna grab one more cup of joe and sashay my way onstage.

Frank and His Girls
Tonight!
7:30pm

You don't wanna miss this one:)

Let's just say Kate and I aren't in Kansas anymore.

love,
Kacey

Frank and His Girls

Today is day 2 of rehearsals for "Frank and His Girls"...Kace and I open the show with Me and My Shadow which is hilarious.  We used to sing that song when we were little - it is a blast going back and singing it again!

Isn't he handsome?  His music was beautiful then and is beautiful now.  Truly some of the best songs to come out of the American Songbook.

We're learning staging today so wish us luck!!

We Have A Blog!

Welcome to our new website slash blog!  I'm just gonna jump right and in let you all know what's coming up for Kacey and me :>)

We are finally back in the same city together! It's a Thanksgiving Miracle!!!  I moved back to California, and crazy enough am moving into a house right down the street from Kacey and Rossi....double trouble strikes again!

Be sure to come out to our 1 night only show at the Encore Dinner Theater in Tustin, CA this Friday night!  It's a Frank Sinatra review (some of our favorite music of all time) called "Frank and His Girls".  Show starts at 7:30pm!
